Durst, the leading manufacturer of industrial digital printing equipment after the initial launch of the UV inkjet based label press Tau 150 at Label Expo 2009 in Brussels, announces the launch of the new Tau 150 with 8 colors and the new digital printing modules for Rotoworx 330 Finishing Systems offering Digital Varnish and VDP capability at the upcoming LabelExpo 2010 (booth 5901) where the full product range will be showcased.
The new Tau 150-8C offers a whole new range of color configurations to cover the majority of requested label printing applications. Its standard color configuration CMYK +W can now be completed with Orange and Violet color thus offering a >90% coverage of the Pantone color gamut.
Additionally, Tau 150-8C can be equiped with a Digital Varnish print module for digital spot varnish applications, generating different gloss levels with only one fluid in a single pass at the time of printing the label jobs, allowing converters to produce new value added products in a fully automated and very efficient workflow.
Also new on display will be the high speed Tau 150 VDP option, which allows full label-to-label variability at highest printing speeds of the Tau press.
Like the existing Tau 150 model, the new Tau 150-8C covers web widths from 10 cm (4”) to a maximum 16,5 cm (6,5”) and reaches an industry leading throughput speed of close to 50 m/min. (~160 ft./min.), resulting in substantially improved return on investment for the label printer.
Also showcased at Labelexpo will be the DIVA module, developed and manufactured by Durst’s
The 13” wide DIVA module is fully integrated with the Rotoworx® 330 which already features semi-rotary die-cutting at industry leading speed of up to 50 m/min. (160 ft./min.), lamination and UV flood coating. Also on display will be a digital print module with VDP capability and suitable VDP Software.
Existing Rotoworx® 330 machines can be field upgraded with the new modules which will commence shipment immediately after the LabelExpo show.
Durst’s Managing Director, Dr. Richard Piock, commented: “We have a strong commitment to innovation and we continue to accelerate our R&D investments with a major focus on the label market. We are convinced that the new Tau 150-8C as well as the DIVA module and VDP module offer very important features which will be source of competitive advantage for our customers”.
