Under its Smart (th)inking slogan at the LabelExpo Americas 2010 show at Chicago, GSE Dispensing is showing to the industry that automated ink logistics are not only eco-friendly; they help reduce running costs by up to 30 percent, while delivering exact color quality and improved productivity. GSE Dispensing is having a table-top display of its dispensing program for the label printer. GSE systems are supported by a high-powered software tool, IMSTM, whose time-saving features include stock control and ink consumption analysis.

The Match reduces ink usage by dispensing is the exact amount needed for each job. They calculate the volume requirements for the most challenging spot recipes, and dispenses batch to an accuracy of one gram, in less than four minutes. Furthermore, any excess ink remaining after a print run can be easily reused, located and retrieved from stock. ‘Press return' inks, normally too complex to be calculated manually into new recipes, are thus included in future print runs.
Mr. Anne Lourens, managing director at GSE Dispensing who was present at the exhibition, commented: "Ink dispensing systems are ideal for helping flexo and gravure printers keep costs in check, while adopting sustainable, eco-friendly ink logistics practices. With our technology, controlled, repeatable color consistency is easily accessible to those even with limited budgets, for a fast return on investment."
