MPS UNVEILS THE EVOLVED VERSION OF THE EC

During the last five years, the EC printing press has proved to be the ultimate press for printers that require a print quality of exacting standards to the very highest level, press flexibility and operator friendliness. Now, MPS is unveiling the evolved version of the EC.

More and more, the average order size of the label and packaging printer is becoming smaller; our engineering team at MPS have studied this ever increasing problem and developed a solution to short order runs. The focus had to be on reducing press set-up time and job change-over waste without any concessions in terms of quality, flexibility and productivity. Press automation for initial set-up in conjunction with repeat jobs is an absolute must for short order runs. MPS has therefore developed: Automated Print Control (APC).

Thanks to Automated Print Control, together with short web technology and the most ergonomic press control system available today (iControl), the new EC has become the answer for short order runs. Consequently, our customers are reporting huge cost price reductions per 1,000 labels. The new EC is also equipped with a unique and advanced heat management system thus enabling it to run both label stock and unsupported film. Finally, a converting rail system for flexible positioning of all converting functions such as laminating, foiling, web turn and de-lam/re-lam is now fitted as standard on the new EC.

With the new EC, a printer can now own the ultimate label and film press for both short and long runs. The new EC provides the flexibility required to adapt to the constantly changing dynamic world that is “narrow web flexographic printing.
