Toray Plastics (America), Inc., the only United States manufacturer of precision-performance polyester, polypropylene, and bio-based films, is pleased to announce that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition has granted the company Interstate Milk Shippers (IMS) certification for single-service products. The IMS certification signals to milk and dairy products manufacturers that Toray’s packaging-manufacturing processes and packaging materials are recognized as safe for use with dairy applications that are shipped interstate. Toray is expanding in the dairy market with new packaging and lidding technologies, and customers interested in the new products are assured that Toray is compliant with FDA-mandated interstate shipping regulations.
“Milk and dairy products manufacturers who uphold the industry’s standards of excellence expect suppliers to have IMS certification,” says Milan Moscaritolo, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, Toray Plastics (America), Inc. “We are very pleased to let the dairy industry, manufacturers, and converters know that we have earned the IMS certification.”
