Labelexpo Americas 2014 will feature the Craft Beverage Day
on September 11, the final day of the show, to provide details of how to create
labels that ‘stand out in a crowded marketplace’. The program, which takes the form of a half-day conference
and is only available for breweries, distilleries, and wineries, is designed to
increase understanding of all aspects of label production, from materials used,
the machinery involved, adhesives and the latest design trends.
Danielle Jerschefske North America editor of Labels &
Labeling will introduce the morning program, before Roman Artz, technical
project manager at Inland Label, presents a ‘Craft Beverage Labels 101’
presentation reviewing different types of labels and trends that sell more
products, label processes and design tips to differentiate brands on-shelf, and
options for labels on aluminum cans and glass bottles.
Clara Meinen, owner and creative director of One Sweet
Design, will present a session entitled ‘Designing labels for brand consistency
and shelf impact’, in which she will look at labeling design for print
efficiency and brand consistency, communicating with designers and print
providers to meet expectations, and leveraging the power of print technologies
to increase sales, drive brand awareness and growth.
A tour of the Labelexpo Americas 2014 show floor will then
take place, including stops at HP Indigo, Avery Dennison Label and Packaging
Materials and the Smart Mart feature area, before a networking lunch, converter
panel discussion and Q&A session conclude the Craft Beverage Day program.
The expert beverage label converter panel will include:
Inland Label’s Artz; Craig Bakken, vice-president of innovation at Smyth
Companies; Travis Pollard, vice-president of sales and marketing at Paragon
Label; Dan Muenzer, vice-president of marketing at Constantia Flexibles; Kevin
O'Brien, director of food and beverage at Multi-Color Corporation; Jonathan
Cates, plant manager at CCL Portland; and James Stone, technical business
development manager at G3 Enterprises. At the conclusion of the conference, attendees can continue
exploring Labelexpo Americas 2014.
Craft Beverage Day is sponsored by Avery Dennison Label and

Indigo, Xeikon, Sun Chemical, Henkel, CGS Publishing Technology, K Laser,
