Agfa Pitman teams with DuPont to demonstrate integrated packaging solutions at Labelexpo Americas 2014

Increases in productivity and quality were in store for Labelexpo Americas 2014 attendees who visited booth #5403, where Agfa Pitman and DuPont have teamed up to present their industry-leading flexography products and services. Labelexpo Americas 2014 is being held September 9-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois.

Among the new products being introduced at Labelexpo Americas 2014 is DFUV, the newest Cyrel FAST plate. DFUV was developed specifically for tag and label printers who are looking for the highest quality and productivity from their narrow web presses running UV inks.  DFUV dramatically reduces press waste and increases saleable press time by coming up to color almost instantly, producing smooth dense solids with low dot gain and outstanding highlights.

Additionally, Agfa Pitman and DuPont will showcase the 330 NC DigiFlow capable exposure unit which produces standard digital or DigiFlow plates in a smaller format of 25x30 inches. Also available for demonstrations is the JM Heaford 500 FTS mounter system, delivering fast and accurate plate mounting for high quality print and maximum press productivity. Easy to learn and simple to operate, the 500 FTS is built on a rigid frame to provide stability and alignment accuracy. The flat table surface of the 500 FTS enables plates to be precisely and quickly positioned along the center line of the cylinder or sleeve. The booth also featured live demonstrations of the newly released WRD plate cleaner to illustrate its simple, fast and affordable automation.

“Agfa Pitman’s Flexo and package portfolio serves printers who are looking to grow their bottom line,” said Tom Alba, VP Packaging at Agfa Graphics, North America. “From digital workflow through the pressroom, Agfa provides innovative products from market-leading suppliers. No other company offers outstanding support from coast-to-coast and the technical expertise to help customers differentiate and succeed.”

The booth featured many integrated packaging solutions that eliminate chemicals, reduce waste, lower ink consumption and save energy. Dozens of packaging solutions that combine to deliver perfection in detail and productivity were showcased including:
  • Esko’s latest prepress software solutions including Equinox, designed for extended gamut printing, and Suite 14, their latest release
  • Esko CDI Spark 2530 used for imaging Cyrel plates
  • 3M Flexographic mounting tapes with a wide choice of adhesive formulations, foam densities and tape thicknesses
  • Xymid sleeves offering excellent chemical resistance and product life
  • TORELIEF photopolymer plates for letterpress printing
  • Daetwyler MDC doctor blades for less waste and reduced downtime
  • Apex anilox rolls offering high quality with predictable ink transfer
Experts were onsite to educate package printers about the advantages of combining appropriate hardware, software, consumables and services to meet their business goals.
