Newly developed UV blanket
technology from Flint Group offers commercial and packaging printers the
benefit of better blanket performance, longer life and greater versatility. The
new product, dayGraphica 4100 UV Red, works with a wider variety of UV inks and
washes and is more durable than many existing UV blankets in the market. The
product is an ideal match for commercial or packaging printers looking for
improved solid reproduction and a more durable UV blanket, in particular when running
heavy-gauge stocks.
Bill Branson, Flint Group’s
Business Director – North American Blankets, credits the Flint Group technology
team for addressing two major challenges facing UV printers: blanket swell and
durability. “The team was able to reduce swelling with a unique rubber
formulation and increase durability by developing a compressible carcass that
can better withstand the pressures and damaging effects of smashes.”
Mr. Branson notes that
dayGraphica 4100 UV Red is designed specifically for a dedicated UV ink and
wash environment. In that setting, printers experience superior ink transfer
without embossing on coated and uncoated stocks, less edge cutting from heavy
stocks, and faster sheet and web release.
“Users of the dayGraphica 4100 UV
Red blanket also get the benefit of Flint Group’s full-rounded expertise,” adds
Mr. Branson. “Because our ink, blanket and chemical teams work together, we can
help customers choose inks and washes that optimize the performance of this
newly developed UV blanket.”
