On March 18 & 19 the MPS UK office in Wigan welcomed printers and converters to watch live demonstrations and presentations of the new cost-effective MPS EB flexo press.
MPS announced recently having a successful open house that
took place March 18 – 19 at the MPS UK sales and service office in Wigan.
During the open house, live demonstrations and presentations of the new cost-effective
MPS EB flexo press were held to printers and converters. MPS’ sponsoring
partners Avery Dennison, Tesa, Paragon Inks, Cheshire Anilox Technology and
Reproflex 3 were also on-site to present information about their various press-related
products and technologies.
The live demonstrations and presentations showed open house
visitors the advantages of the following innovative technologies featured in
the new MPS EB flexo press:
Crisp.Dot Light, which guarantees predictable high-quality
label printing with no gear marking
iSet, a new MPS technology which features intelligent
pressure settings and easy operation
iStop technology, providing zero waste at roll change
During the press demonstrations, MPS printed two different
jobs on various types of material, including cold foil. The change-over time
was only minutes and less than 25 metres of waste was produced. One of the top
advantages of MPS presses, especially the new EB press, is the ease of
operation. The operator-friendly controls and operator touch panels enhance interaction
between the press operator and the press. Open house visitors experienced
first-hand the control of the machine and the operator interface as unequalled
benefits in press operation.
Nick Tyrer, MPS UK Sales Director comments: “We were
enormously pleased to see such an enthusiastic turnout for the launch of the EB
press at our open house event in Wigan, including printers who attended from as
far as Jordan. Visitors’ reactions were very positive, especially with the
cost-saving iStop technology that optimizes stops and starts during printing,
leaving zero waste. The iStrip Matrix technology, which allows the press to die-cut
and strip matrix at very high press speeds, even when the label shape and
material are very difficult to strip, was also seen as very advantageous for
increasing productivity.”
Hank Arnold of Limbus Labels, owner of the demonstrated EB
press and first EB customer in the UK commented: “We chose the MPS EB flexo
press simply because there is nothing else at the price point with that level
of sophistication. We produce a lot of short to medium run high-quality work,
and with the EB pre-setting features, short web path and iStop, we will achieve
massive material savings. There is also the benefit of reduced power
consumption, which we calculate will be half of our current machines.”
