Toyo Ink India launches new “NEXpress” brand for safe packaging solutions
Toyo
Ink India Pvt. Ltd., a member of the Toyo Ink Group of Japan, has launched a
new brand – NEXpress – to encompass all of its packaging-related inks and
coatings, including regulatory safe lineup tailor-made for the packaging of
food, toys, pharmaceuticals and other consumer products. The NEXpress basket of
packaging solutions was developed to support Indian package printers in the
production workflow, by supplying them with the materials and required
certifications needed to meet today’s packaging performance and regulatory
needs.

Durst targets more converters with Tau 330 RSC E launch
Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital printing and
production technologies, has launched the Tau 330 RSC E UV inkjet single-pass
press that will bring affordable digital production to increasing numbers of
converters. Specifically targeted at small and medium converters in the
mid-tier market, the budget-priced new model – prices start from €350,000
– will be field
upgradable to the full Durst Tau RSC high-speed press at full 8 colours and 78
linear meters/min (245 ft./min).

Classic Colours offers waterless offset inks for virtually any offset application
Toray
Graphics in the Czech Republic, a leading manufacturer of waterless offset
plate technology, today reported that UK-based Classic Colours, a manufacturer
of offset inks, has transitioned virtually all of its ink production from
conventional oil-based offset inks to more environmentally sound UV-curable
waterless offset inks. The company occupies a 5,000 square foot facility
operated by eight employees plus the management team. The company produces
about 70 tons of ink annually.

Pulse Roll Label Products moves to multi-layer, multi-lingual self-adhesive labels,

web specialist Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd has switched from its existing 1
ply labelling for packaging of its inks, coatings and varnishes to using
multi-layer, multi-lingual self-adhesive labels, printed with its own PurePeel
UV flexo peel and read release varnish. In
co-operation with leading self-adhesive label producer, Skanem Cardiff, the new
labels have been designed and printed to incorporate H- (hazard) and P-
(precautionary statements) phrases in English as well as 20 other languages. The
new 3 ply peel and read labels provide 5 printable areas for information which
means that Pulse Roll Label Products now requires just one label for all its
product packaging requirements.
Converters Expo South returns to Charlotte
Hundreds
of converters and packagers of paper, film and nonwovens will convene Feb. 5 at
the Charlotte Convention Center for the second annual Converters Expo South.

Jet Label & Packaging invests in one-pass RFID Insertion
Jet
Label & Packaging, Western Canada’s largest producer of labels and printed
tape for a broad range of industries, has installed a single-pass RFID
inserting system involving an existing Mark Andy flexographic press and an RFID
application unit from Tamarack.
Engineers
from Mark Andy retrofitted an existing press at Jet Label’s manufacturing
facility to allow room for the Tamarack components. The resulting single-pass
RFID insertion sees label stock briefly opened for RFID inlay, then relaminated
via finishing operations. The new system then verifies RFID function with a
reader system after die-cutting.

heat sealable polyester films with up to 50% post-consumer recycled rPET

the Mylar Harvest Fresh range of films with base film made from food contact
approved rPET polymer.
Packaging material a key issue for the climate
Switching
material from plastic to paperboard can reduce a packaging’s climate impact by
99 per cent. For people who influence the choice of packaging material, this
single choice can make the biggest climate impact during a product manager or
designer’s entire professional career. That’s the conclusion of a study done by
IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute for Iggesund Paperboard. The
starting point was to study some of the commonest packaging types and compare
the differences in climate impact depending on the choice of packaging
material.

Only a month left for the curtain to rise at PrintPack India 2019
The count down for PrintPack India 2019 is fast
zeroing in. Only a month is left for the curtain to rise. IPAMA gratefully
acknowledges Industry’s overwhelming response, as the exhibition space
earmarked for the exhibition has been completely sold out two months before the
show. This year’s PrintPack India will 47% bigger than the last edition, Net
24,500 Sq. mtr has already booked by 505 participants. Major players have
already confirmed their participation and started their planning to take the
maximum advantage of this Mega Event.
As the outcome of exhibition depends mainly on visitors,
we at Ipama are expecting a massive footfall of visitors in PrintPack India
2019 and are taking every possible step to it being ensured. Arrangements are
being made with sister associations like Association of Label Printers &
Suppliers, Screen Printers Association of India, Indian Paper Corrugated &
Packaging Machinery Mfg. Association, Federation of Corrugated Box
