How to shape the future of the label industry as a young professional

Some dust was stirred up at the European Label Forum in Copenhagen last June when the Young Managers Club relaunched and revamped themselves as the Young Professionals Network. Here to embrace change, openness and learning experiences, the group of young professionals welcomes all similarly minded label players who are looking for exactly that whilst building their network in an industry that already feels for most, like family.

The Young Professionals Network (YPN)
What is this group of young professionals about? Imagine walking into a room full of people that have the same energy as you, where you feel welcomed and where you can speak your mind. Topics and issues that are stuck in your mind are openly discussed in an open and positive atmosphere, so you can take real solutions and personal development back to the office. That is the YPN.

Aiming to close the gap
The ambitious group has set the bar high and wants to work together with FINAT to secure the future of the label industry. They want to address change during Labelexpo in Brussels this year and will host two panel discussions at the Finat stand (11A31) on ‘Securing the future of our industry’ and ‘Women in the label industry’. Next to that, more integrated brainstorm sessions at Finat events will be hosted which will lead to a trends report which leaders could use to further shape their business strategies. In September 2020, the YPN is planning to organize a bootcamp, again full of interactive learning sessions relevant to the label industry and personal development.

‘Finat people can help us by sending us their young people who are keen on working on trends and on making a difference. And it is also crucial for us to be at the Finat event because we have to close that gap.’ says Matthias Vollherbst, CEO of VollherbstDruck GmbH (DE).

Friendships lie for the taking
‘YPN is a perfect way to secure the future of our industry and learn new practices, it is a great way of finding out what is happening in real life’ says Chris Spooner, Business Development Manager of Label Traxx (GB) and one of the young professionals that has been with the group for a couple of years now. The Young Professionals Network makes it easier to create and maintain a network within the label industry and is a great source of knowledge, both for label-related topics and for personal growth. The great news is that all Finat company members can depute their young professionals (age limit of 40 years) to the YPN free of charge. Discover the YPN by applying for free membership now.
